‘If you can’t beat them, join them’. Well, that’s exactly what I did. After four seasons in which a driver of Prema Racing won the championship I drove in, I decided to switch to … Prema Racing! I’m extremely happy to share the news that I will defend the rosso corsa in 2023. Prema Racing team principal René Rosin always had nice chats in the paddock, so it’s a good feeling to finally work together.

There were quite some opportunities for this new season. I think it’s safe to say I left my mark in ELMS last year. For me, one thing was clear: if I could join the World Endurance Championship grid, then options there would be the preferred ones. When Prema Racing told me they expended to become a two-car outfit in 2023 and subsequently invited me for the WEC Rookie Test in Bahrain, one and one equaled more than two.

I”ll be driving the #9 Prema Racing car, and my two team mates are Juan Manuel Correa and Filip Ugran. I know Filip from the last part of the 2022 ELMS season, when we shared the #19 Algarve Pro Racing car. Juan is somebody I’ve spoken with a dozen times in the past, as we crossed paths quite a lot.

It’s an all new challenge, one I believe I’m absolutely ready for. Our target is simple: we want to be on the podium as often as possible. There are seven races, so seven Prema Racing podium finishes must be our goal. The season will kick off with a two-day Prologue on the Sebring International Raceway, where the first round of the 2023 WEC season will be held only a few days later. In April, we visit both the Portimão and Spa-Francorchamps tracks.

Obviously, the 24 Hours of Le Mans is the jewel in our crown. That event, the 100 year anniversary, will be held in the second weekend of June. Afterwards there are three more WEC races, namely at Monza, the Fuji Speedway and in Bahrain. I’m ready!
